Happy Memorial Day all, its the first glorious weekend of Summer here in San francsico, and everbody is hard at work in the coffee shops typing up their novels, editing their photos and being technophiles. My MacBook is spinning its fans like crazy at the moment, why? I’m not sure… but maybe it’s second life running that is causing the fans to spin like wild, sure enough I just pulled up Activity Monitor and Second Life was using 101% of my cpu, look:

Last weekend at the San Mateo Fairgrounds in California was the 2nd Annual Maker Faire, it was an incredible array of art, robots, craft and geekery. I loved it and have CameraGirl to thank for the tip off! Pogo came along on Sunday and I recorded quite a lot of it on DV, so today I’ve edited my favorite part of the faire for your viewing pleasure, you should find my video of the Tesla coil demmonstration which doesn’t do the coil justice as the ffeling when you’re standing next to one of these is INCREDIBLE.
Bring a lightbulb with you (AC only) and if you’re near when this is going off the lightbulb will light in your hand!
